Kansas Destination Specialist
The Travel Industry Association of Kansas offers an education certification program to its members. The Kansas Destination Specialist designation is achieved by earning points for attending seminars/workshops and by submitting one-page reports of books on the Recommended Reading List.
Seminar/workshops are held throughout the year. Points are assigned to each based on the length of the presentation (i.e., a 4 hour seminar earns 4 points).
Three book reports, on books from separate categories on the reading list (click here for the reading list - pdf file), must be submitted and reviewed/approved by the TIAK Education Committee.
To earn the Kansas Destination Specialist designation, successful candidates must accumulate at least 25 points. Plaques are awarded those members attaining this achievement.
